Toffee Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 stick of butter

  • 1 cup of brown sugar

  • 1 tsp salt


Instructions:

  • line a baking sheet with parchment paper

  • in a saucepan over medium heat, start melting the butter

  • after the butter has melted, add the sugar and the salt

  • whisk vigorously for 1 minute or until combined

  • if you have a candy thermometer then keep this on the heat until it reaches 295-305 degrees, if you do not have a candy thermometer then keep it on the heat for about 10 minutes. While it is on the heat keep stirring

  • after it has reached the desired temperature then pour it out on the prepped baking sheet and spread it thinly with a spatula

  • let it cool for 20-30 minutes

  • then break the toffee into pieces (you determine the size)

  • enjoy!


I mostly use this toffee recipe as a cookie or brownie add-in; however, it is also good to eat alone.
